Bryan is a member of Professor David McComb's research group. His current research will focus primarily on the study of double perovskite thin films and heterostructures for their application to spintronics. These materials are provided by a collaboration with the Physics and Chemistry Departments. Studying these materials at the atomic level is made possible by use of the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM), especially high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM) and the FEI ChemiSTEMTM which can provide atomic resolution energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Additionally, HAADF-STEM image simulations will be compared to experimental images for interpretation purposes.
