Dr. Núria Bagués received her bachelor's degree in Geology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2010. She received her master’s degree in Geology in 2011 through a combined program at UAB and the University of Barcelona, and then continued on to earn her Ph.D. in Materials Science from UAB in 2017.
Dr. Bagués is an expert in combining high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and spectroscopic analysis, such us electron dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), to characterize the microstructure, interfaces, and defects in complex oxide epitaxial thin films and functional nanostructures.
Her current research focuses on using CEMAS’s Titan TEM to study and image magnetic textures via Lorentz microscopy.
