Mehrdad is a member of Dr. Jinwoo Hwang’s group. He is currently working on a new technique named Fluctuation Electron Microscopy (FEM) to characterize amorphous materials as well as doing computational modeling. He did his MSc in Materials Science and Engineering, majoring in corrosion engineering, from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) where he synthesized and characterized a polymer based composite to protect steels from degradation. He also received his bachelor’s degree from Isfahan University of Technology. His undergraduate research focused on the development and characterization of bio-compatible composites such as Apatite used as coatings for human implants. Additionally, Mehrdad was involved in some microscopy and welding research during his BSc and MSc. As a result, he has been author and coauthor of some papers in the area of microscopy, electrochemistry, welding, and characterization.
