Cheng-Han Li, a graduate research associate at The Ohio State University’s Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis (CEMAS), was recently awarded a Presidential Fellowship. Awarded competitively, the Presidential Fellowship is the most prestigious award given by the Graduate School. Recipients of the award embody the highest standards of scholarship in the full range of Ohio State’s graduate programs.

The Presidential Fellowship will allow Li to focus on his dissertation research, which explores the atomic-scale characterization of structure-properties relationships in automotive catalysts. Li’s research utilizes advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) at CEMAS under the direction of Professor Joerg Jinschek. His project is part of the Ford-Ohio State University Alliance program.

Li began his doctoral studies in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Ohio State in 2017. A native of Taiwan, Li earned his bachelor’s degree (‘14) and master’s degree (‘16) from the National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei. Li plans to graduate with his doctoral degree from Ohio State in Spring 2022.
