Session Description:
There is a constant improvement in both the quality and size of images used in scientific research, especially from 3D Electron microscopy and micro-CT modalities. This comes with an increasing need for accurate, repeatable, and reliable image analysis and visualization. This session discusses the applications of Thermo Scientific Avizo™ software for visualization, processing, and analysis of 3D images. The talk will review overall image processing workflow for 3D images including pre-processing, image segmentation, registration, and quantification. A review of using the Avizo™ software for image-based simulations and modeling will also be covered. The talk will also address some of the challenges of working with datasets with large sizes.
